About Jan Knox
In 1970, Jan Knox started her career as a fine artist by taking drawing and perspective at the Texas School of Fine Arts in Austin,TX under the direction of Charles Berkley Norman. She sold at local arts & crafts shows around the Central Texas area (Salado, Austin, San Antonio, Big Spring and Fredericksburg). Working in pen, ink and brush, Jan did fifteen illustrations for a poetry book, Dreams, Reality and other Madness, published by Acorn Press. Now she is working in mixed water media and has been experimenting with inks, acrylics, watercolor, colored pencil and collage. Jan co-founded Austin Art Space Gallery & Studios in 2006, and in 2011, she partnered with AVAA to manage the gallery. You can see her work at Austin Art Space and various shows around Austin, TX.

- 2009, Georgetown Art Hop Statewide Competition and Exhibit. 2nd place award in painting.
- 2010, Georgetown Art Hop Statewide Competition and Exhibit. 1st place award in painting.
- 2010, Hunting Art Prize Finalists. One of 130 artists selected by the first jurying panel to compete for the Grand Prize from statewide entries of over 1400. Sold entry painting to Law firm in Houston. 2011, Wimberley Valley Art League show, 1st Place. “Crystalline Cathedral” ink drawing. 2011, Hunting Art Prize Finalists. One of 110 artists selected by the first jurying panel to compete for the Grand Prize from a pool of over 1600 entries statewide.
